The Texans hired Bobby King as a defensive assistant, the team announced on Friday.

King joins the Texans after one season with the Cowboys as their defensive quality-control/assistant linebackers coach. King worked under current Texans linebackers coach Reggie Herring and defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

King has spent his entire collegiate and pro coaching career in Texas.
