Ravens CB Chris Carr would be amenable to re-signing with Baltimore, he told PFW on Tuesday.

"I definitely would want to come back," said Carr, who started every game for Baltimore last season, noting a "starting job or a chance to start" are the opportunities he would be seeking if he were to re-sign with the Ravens.

The Ravens' plans at cornerback bear watching. Domonique Foxworth, a 16-game starter in 2009, is slated to return after missing the 2010 season with a knee injury. The Ravens are also high on third-year CB Lardarius Webb. Josh Wilson, who moved into the starting lineup in November at right cornerback, is, like Carr, expected to be an unrestricted free agent.

A source close to the situation tells PFW that there have been discussions on a new contract for Carr, but those were of the "preliminary" variety.

Carr, 27, said he has enjoyed playing with the Ravens, with the team's camaraderie and success being two aspects he's relished. He also said the Ravens' players are excited about the promotion of Chuck Pagano from secondary coach to defensive coordinator. Pagano replaces Greg Mattison, now Michigan's defensive coordinator. Carr noted that Pagano is knowledgeable, as well as someone "everybody likes and everybody wants to play for, and sometimes that's just as important as X's and O's."

In two seasons with Baltimore, Carr started 20 regular-season games and hopes he is now widely viewed as a starting-caliber cornerback — something he has always believed he was and believes he has proven in Baltimore. "It was just a really gratifying experience," Carr said of the last two years..
