The 49ers handed out restricted free-agent tenders to three players on Wednesday, giving the team the right of first refusal if a player signs with another team or the ability to receiver a draft choice in compensation. The contract tenders are dependent on there being a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
OLB Manny Lawson, SS Dashon Goldson and DE Ray McDonald were all sent tenders, according to Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area. It is not known what level tenders the three players were given.
Lawson and Goldson both started all 16 games for San Francisco last year and are key to the team's long-term defensive plans. McDonald was a reserve in 2010, finishing the season with 19 tackles.
