The Saints tendered 10 players late Tuesday, submitting offers to DT Remi Ayodele, OLT Jermon Bushrod, DE Jeff Charleston, S Roman Harper, S Usama Young, PK Garrett Hartley, WR Lance Moore, OG Carl Nicks, TE David Thomas and RB Pierre Thomas.

Terms of the offers were not disclosed by the club, but Bushrod received a tender at the level of a second-round draft pick, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Bushrod has started 30 regular-season games over the last two seasons, protecting Drew Brees' blind side. He played under a second-round restricted free-agent tender last season. This year's tender is reportedly worth $1.91 million.

PFW correspondent and New Orleans Times-Picayune writer Mike Triplett is reporting that Moore, a fifth-year veteran, also got a second-round tender. Moore had 66 catches for 763 yards and eight touchdowns in 2010. Triplett reported that Thomas got second-round compensation level and Young got a third-round tender. Fox Sports' Adam Caplan reported that Nicks recieved a tender at the level of a first-round pick.

Schefter reported that Hartley received a five-year deal.

The way we see it

The Saints want to keep Bushrod and Moore but are not ready to sign either to a long-term deal. Hartley had an up-and-down year, losing his job after Week Three but regaining it in Week Six. He finished the season converting his last 10 field goals. Thomas missed most of the season with an ankle injury. Like most of the tenders we will see this week, it is unknown whether they will be restricted free agents under a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, but this gives the Saints some control going into a period of labor uncertainty.
