The Cowboys have given OLT Doug Free the highest-level tender possible, requiring compensation of first- and third-round draft choices if he were to sign an offer sheet with another club.

The team also tendered S Alan Ball (seventh round), DE Stephen Bowen (second round) and DE Jason Hatcher (second round).

Free started all 16 games last season for the first time in his career.  Ball recorded 45 tackles and hauled in two interceptions. Hatcher had 13 tackles and a sack, and Bowen added 22 tackles and 1½ sacks.

Free, Bowen and Hatcher have accrued four NFL seasons. It is unknown whether, under the next Collective Bargaining Agreement, that would qualify them as restricted or unrestricted free agents.

WR Sam Hurd did not receive a free-agent tender.
