The Bills have tendered three potential free agents: S Donte Whitner, LB Paul Posluszny and TE Scott Chandler.

Whitner just finished his fifth season with the Bills, recording a career-high seven passes defensed. Negotiations on a new deal broke down in December.

Posluszny, the team's top linebacker, just completed his fourth season in Buffalo, recording 150 tackles.

The way we see it

The Bills hope to have secured the rights to one of their top free agents in Posluszny and answered some questions about whether or not they see Whitner in their future. CB Drayton Florence remains the team's top potential free agent. But, like most deals that have occurred the past week, we won't know what these tenders mean under the next Collective Bargaining Agreement until one is ratified, specifying the number of accrued seasons required to qualify for unrestricted free agency.
