At the NFL Scouting Combine, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh indicated that re-signing OG-OT Marshal Yanda, who's slated to be an unrestricted free agent, is "going to be a priority for us."
"I think he's a good player obviously, a very good player," Harbaugh said of Yanda, who played right tackle last season in place of Jared Gaither, who missed the campaign with a back injury. "He's one of my favorite guys. He knows that. As a coach, you want those guys back. … I think the foundation is your offensive line on offense, no doubt, your quarterback and your offensive line is where it starts."
Yanda, who turns 27 in September, has made 42 starts in four seasons. He made six regular-season starts at right guard in 2009 and could move back to that position next season if he re-signs with Baltimore.
Harbaugh told reporters that FB Le'Ron McClain, who also could be an unrestricted free agent, is likely to test the market.
"Le'Ron McClain is a ballcarrier, too," Harbaugh said of McClain, who rushed for 902 yards in 2008 but only 265 in two seasons since. "He's not just a fullback. The market is going to declare that a little bit. I would love to have Le'Ron signed right now, too. I think he's going to be interested to see what the market is going to bear for him. There's so much uncertainty right now. It's just hard to predict."
