The Ravens are expected to cut RB Willis McGahee in the coming days but may re-sign him for a lower cost to retain their depth at the position.
PFW correspondent and Baltimore Sun writer Jamison Hensley reports that McGahee is scheduled to make $6 million in 2011 under his current contract. As a backup to Ray Rice last season, McGahee had 100 carries for 380 yards and five TDs, while also catching 14 passes and adding another TD through the air.
The 29-year old running back signed a seven-year extension in 2007 with the team, with the final two seasons being team options. If McGahee is released, he is expected to test the free-agent market, with the Ravens one of the teams likely to be interested in signing him.
