Ed Podolak, who played nine seasons for the Chiefs from 1969-77, was injured in a car accident over the weekend.

Police in Scottsdale, Ariz., said Podolak, 63, was not inside a crosswalk when he was hit Sunday. They said the driver of the car that hit Podolak tried to brake but couldn't stop fast enough. The former running back was sent to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Podolak is currently the radio voice of Iowa Hawkeyes football.
