We hear that ORG Davin Joseph, who is due to become a free agent at midnight on March 4 — barring a work stoppage — is the Buccaneers' top priority to re-sign and that the team is willing to outbid other potential suitors in order to keep him. His agent, Ben Dogra, already has said he doesn't expect the franchise tag to be used on Joseph, and it appears the Bucs are prepared to offer the five-year veteran a long-term deal.

Tampa Bay does have good depth on the O-line — it proved that last season when Joseph, who missed the final five games of the season with a broken foot, and starting C Jeff Faine landed on injured reserve. One of GM Mark Dominik's top concerns, however, is protecting QB Josh Freeman, and Joseph is considered one of the team's core players.

Joseph, an Oklahoma product, has started 67 of the 68 games in which he has played since Tampa Bay selected him 23rd overall in the 2006 draft. He made the Pro Bowl in 2008 and is a powerful run blocker.
