The Broncos are in contract discussions with CB Champ Bailey, according to the Denver Post.

Bailey, who recently made his 10th career Pro Bowl appearance, is set to become a free agent when a new Collective Bargaining Agreement is reached. The team was close to agreeing to terms on a new contract with Bailey in October before it pulled out of contract talks.

Bailey has been a vital part of the Broncos' secondary for the past seven seasons, recording 30 interceptions during that span.

The way we see it

Bailey was one of few standouts on a Denver defense that ranked last in the league in 2010. Re-signing Bailey would help shore up a secondary that is loaded with question marks. CB Andre' Goodman was unable to stay healthy for the majority of last season and CB Perrish Cox, who is facing sexual-assault charges, could face jail time or a suspension.
