The Cardinals have named Mike Miller as their new offensive coordinator.

Miller was promoted after serving as the team's passing-game coordinator for the past two seasons. He was the Cards' wide receivers coach from 2007-08.

Head coach Ken Whisenhunt said that Miller's promotion would complete the restructuring of his staff.

The way we hear it

Miller spilt offensive coordinator duties with Russ Grimm last season, with Miller handling the passing game and Grimm in charge of the running game. The question now is whether or not Miller calls the plays. Whisenhunt was the Cardinals' play-caller last season when the team finished ranked 31st in the league in offense.

When Arizona won the NFC West and reached the Super Bowl in 2008, then-offensive coordinator Todd Haley was the one calling the plays.
