The Jets replaced Sal Alosi on Monday, hiring Bill Hughan as the team's new strength and conditioning coach. Bryan Dermody will be retained as the assistant strength coach.

Hughan spent three seasons as the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Falcons. He also spent time in the same position with the Raiders.

Alosi was the subject of one of the season's bigger controversies when he tripped Dolphins' gunner Nolan Carroll during a punt in Week 14. He was suspended indefinitely following the incident and resigned on Feb. 1.
