Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, who has led the team to the playoffs in all three seasons he's been at the helm, has agreed to a contract extension with the organization. He had one year remaining on his deal entering the 2011 season.
Baltimore has a 32-16 record since Harbaugh took over, earning an AFC wild-card berth each season The coach also has a 4-3 playoff record, with the Ravens losing to the eventual conference champion each season.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Having John increases our opportunity to compete for the NFL championship every year, which is our goal," team president Dick Cass said.
The way we see it
Harbaugh has shown that he is one of the game's premier coaches, making the Ravens postseason regulars since he took over. With a talented, young quarterback in Joe Flacco, strong skill-position players and an always-tough defense, the team should be good for many years to come under Harbaugh's watch.
