The Falcons hired former Bengals offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski to be the team's new quarterbacks coach on Saturday, replacing Bill Musgrave.

Musgrave left Atlanta following the season to become the Vikings' new offensive coordinator under Leslie Frazier.

Bratkowski had been the Bengals' offensive coordinator since 2001 before being fired on Jan. 31. Despite having weapons with QB Carson Palmer and WRs Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens, Bratkowski's offense ranked 20th in the league and Cincinnati finished the season 4-12.

Bratkowski will work with Falcons QB Matt Ryan, who is coming off his best year. In his third season, Ryan threw 28 touchdowns and nine interceptions for the Falcons.
