The Raiders are expected to use the franchise tag on DT Richard Seymour.
This would be the second consecutive year Seymour was given the tag. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, if tagged, he would make $14.9 million next season, a 20 percent raise.
The six-time Pro Bowler recently completed his 10th NFL season, recording 48 tackles and 5½ sacks.
The way we see it
With the CBA still not worked out, there are questions regarding what will happen with free agency. Using the tag on Seymour is a way for Oakland to ensure it can hold on to a still-productive player who was acquired in exchange for the team's first-round pick in 2011 (17th overall).
