Steelers WRs Hines Ward and Emmanuel Sanders will undergo surgery following their Super Bowl loss to the Packers.

Ward will have cartilage damage cleaned up in his knee, an injury that effected him all season, and also have ligament damage repaired in his thumb.

Sanders, who suffered a small break in his foot during the Super Bowl, will have surgery to repair the break.

The way we see it

The 34-year-old Ward appeared to have lost a step in 2010, which may have been in part because of the knee injury. While he likely won't surprise anyone with his speed at this point in his career, Ward may prove more effective with a healthy knee.

Sanders is expected to be ready in time for training camp but could miss OTAs — if a labor agreement is reached and they occur.
