PFW caught up with Buccaneers DT Gerald McCoy, who was in Dallas taking in some of the events leading up to the Super Bowl, earlier this week. McCoy, who missed the last three games of his rookie year after landing on injured reserve with a biceps tear that required surgery to repair, said last season did not turn out how he wanted to "from a personal standpoint and from a team standpoint."
"I turned it up those games before I got injured," he said. "Things were really starting to change for me. I make no excuses for myself. I don't accept mediocrity. Only greatness. And that's why this offseason is big for me."
McCoy said he has changed his diet and has already lost 13 pounds since his rookie campaign came to an end, dropping from 310 to 297 pounds.
"This offseason is going to be nothing but a grind for me," he said. "It's all serious. No jokes this offseason."
