Even before Josh McDaniels was hired as the Rams' offensive coordinator, running backs figured to be pretty high on the team's wish list. "They've been doing a high-wire act with no safety net (at the position) for a while now, and Steven Jackson is at an age (he turns 28 in late July) where they really have to start thinking about replacements," one team insider said. Beyond that, if McDaniels stays true to the form he displayed as the Patriots' coordinator, where the use of multiple backs was a key element in one of the most explosive offenses in league history, the word out of St. Louis is that a Kevin Faulk-type weapon or two that is adept at receiving out of the backfield has probably become more of a priority. "And it looked like there were a lot of guys like that at the Senior Bowl — who could also return kickoffs — that should be available in the second through fifth rounds," the insider said.
