Each day we'll post the prediction of a PFW editor for Super Bowl XLV. PFW managing editor Mike Holbrook's prediction is the eighth of 10.
Steelers 35, Packers 31
I was shocked by how conservative the Packers played after grabbing their early lead against the Bears. I expect Mike McCarthy and his staff won't let that happen again and will play this game all out to win. I already know that Mike Tomlin and his team will play like that, so I expect another thriller not unlike the Steelers-Cardinals game in Super Bowl XLIII or these teams' last meeting in Week 15 of the 2009 season. That game turned into a shootout in the fourth quarter, and I look for more of the same, with lots of big-play weapons on both sides of the ball for both teams. I could see a defensive score or two, in addition to lights-out performances by Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger as they adeptly utilize their many offensive weapons. Sit back and enjoy what should be an absolute classic.
