The Panthers have hired Scott Turner as their offensive quality-control coach.

Turner, the son of Chargers head coach Norv Turner, spent 2010 as the wide receivers coach at the University of Pittsburgh and before that was an offensive assistant at the school.

He will work with new Carolina offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski.
