Tamba Hali's time on the AFC Pro Bowl roster didn't last long.

After being named as a replacement for Steelers OLB James Harrison, who won't be available as he prepares for the Super Bowl, on Sunday, Hali has already asked out of the game for personal reasons. His spot will be taken by the Chargers' Shaun Phillips.

Hali finished 2010 with an AFC-high 14.5 sacks. He also had 52 tackles, four forced fumbles and three passes defensed.

The Chiefs will still be sending five players to Honolulu for Sunday's contest: QB Matt Cassel, RB Jamaal Charles, WR Dwayne Bowe, OG Brian Waters and S Eric Berry.

The way we see it

Although injuries weren't cited for Hali missing the Pro Bowl, he said after the season that he was playing through tears in both of his shoulders and also one in his foot. Set to become a free agent, the 27-year-old is due for a big payday this offseason.
