Herschel Walker wants to play in the NFL at age 48 after being out of the league for 13 years.

"I want to be the George Foreman of football," Walker said on a conference call for a Mixed Martial Arts event in which he's competing.

Walker said he'd like to play for either the Vikings or the Falcons. He was a part of one of the most famous trades in NFL history, as the Vikings sent a bevy of draft picks and players to the Cowboys, which helped Dallas build a roster that won three Super Bowl titles in a four-year span.

Walker makes his home in Atlanta.

Training for the MMA reportedly has Walker in remarkable shape, but few positional players have played in the NFL into their 40s. Vikings QB Brett Favre, who has filed retirement papers with the NFL, struggled through an injury- and performance-plagued season in what might be his final year in the league at the age of 41.
