The Vikings have added to their coaching staff, signing RB coach James Saxon. This move likely will be the final hire the Vikings make regarding their coaches.

Saxon replaces Eric Bieniemy, who took the offensive-coordinator position at the University of Colorado. Saxon has spent the past three seasons with the Dolphins and seven years before that with the Chiefs. He also played in the NFL with the Chiefs, Dolphins and Eagles over eight seasons.

Over the past three seasons, the production of RBs Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown was strong but fell off in 2010, and Saxon was not retained. The Dolphins ranked ninth in rushing yards per carry in 2009 but only 21st in '10.
