Cardinals DT Darnell Dockett has been elevated from Pro Bowl alternate to being on the NFC team, replacing the injured Kevin Williams of the Vikings.

Dockett had 52 tackles and five sacks for Arizona this season. This is the third Pro Bowl selection of his career; he was previously selected to the '07 and '09 teams.

The way we see it

Dockett did not have an exceptional season for a defense that ranked 31st in the league, yet due to injuries, he is on the NFC Pro Bowl team. The end-of-year all-star game is no longer a competition strictly between the best players in the NFL. Instead, it has become a game between the best players who agree to make the trip to Hawaii and are healthy enough to do so.
