While the Patriots locked up their biggest free agent, Tom Brady, before the 2010 season, there's another Pro Bowler that likely will be their top priority to re-sign this offseason — OLG Logan Mankins. After a contract dispute kept him out the first seven games of the season, Mankins signed his tender and was so effective that he earned a Pro Bowl nod. Over the first seven games without Mankins, the Patriots gained 112.7 rushing yards per game. With Mankins mauling defenders from left guard, the Pats averaged 131.6 rushing yards the last nine games, nearly a 19-yard improvement. Mankins was welcomed back by the team with open arms, and Bill Belichick appreciates his presence. "He's been outstanding on and off the field. He brings a great attitude, work ethic, just superior toughness to the field, to our football team and that unit," Belichick said earlier this season. It's clear the team respects what Mankins brings, now the two sides just need to come to an agreement on a deal.
