The Eagles have hired Jim Washburn as their defensive line coach. He previously held the same position with the Titans.

"We are thrilled to add a quality defensive line coach in Jim Washburn," Eagles head coach Andy Reid said. "He had a great tenure with Jeff Fisher and the Tennessee Titans and he'll play a big part in the development of our defensive line moving forward. He's had a number of Pro Bowl players working under him over the years with the Titans and we're happy to have him join our coaching staff in Philadelphia."

Washburn is considered to be one of the best D-line coaches in the NFL. He has been with the Titans for the past 12 years and has helped develop many talented players, including DE Jevon Kearse and DT Albert Haynesworth.

The Eagles' former defensive line coach, Rory Segrest, was released on Sunday.

The way we see it

If Washburn's past success is any indications, he should help boost the development of the Eagles' young D-linemen. The Eagles could use more production from their players up front and it won't be a surprise if Washburn gets just that sooner than later. This is a nice addition for the Eagles and a big loss for the Titans.
