After first acknowledging all the candidates from whom to choose when asked by PFW which Cardinals defender he believed was the biggest disappointment this season, one team insider ultimately went with CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, who came nowhere close to being the elite shutdown corner many predicted he would become after making the Pro Bowl last season. "It was a close race," the insider said. "You could go with (Darnell) Dockett, who was not the impact player he was last year, or Adrian Wilson, or Calais Campbell for failing to take the next step. But it's probably DRC by a nose." After a team-high six interceptions and three forced fumbles in 2009, Rodgers-Cromartie managed only three interceptions and zero forced fumbles this season. "He's a different kind of guy," the source said. "He's got all the talent in the world, but there were just a lot of plays he didn't make that he should have."
