S Chris Harris left Chicago's divisional-round playoff win over Seattle with a hip injury, but vowed to return in time to play the Packers when he was interviewed in the locker room after the game. He was the only Bear not participating in practice Wednesday, per reports.
Harris said he was feeling better on Wednesday during open locker room before practice.
The Bears have been one of the league's most fortunate teams when it comes to injuries, and Harris, a sixth-year veteran, was asked whether the Bears are feeling a heightened sense of urgency this week to make a title run.
"The window of opportunity is so small in the NFL," Harris said. "You've got to maximize every chance you get. Guys are getting older on our defense. They're still playing at a high level, but the truth of the matter is we have older guys."
One of the defense's veteran leaders, Harris was around for the Bears' Super Bowl appearance at the end of the 2006 season. He was dealt to Carolina before the '07 season. Harris was with the Panthers when they earned a first-round bye in the playoffs in '08, but they were knocked out by the Cardinals in the divisional round.
"You only have a short window is what I'm trying to say, so we definitely have to capitalize and seize the moment," Harris said. "… I don't take it for granted at all. Cherish the moment because it's not guaranteed. I might not ever get a chance to go back. Hopefully not, but that's just the truth."
