Another assistant has left Pete Carroll for the college ranks.
Seahawks DBs coach Jerry Gray will be an assistant head coach and DBs coach at his alma mater, the University of Texas, Longhorns head coach Mack Brown announced Monday.
So far this month, DL coach Dan Quinn has left the Seahawks to become the defensive coordinator at the University of Florida and QB coach Jedd Fisch has been named the offensive coordinator/QB coach at the University of Miami.
The way we see it
Carroll will have to do some hiring this offseason to fill those assistant positions following a 7-9 regular season and an NFC West crown. It is hard to ignore the irony, though, that Carroll just finished his first season back in the NFL after being the head coach at USC and he has already lost three assistants to big-time college programs.
