Broncos RB Laurence Maroney was arrested in St. Louis late Monday night and is being held on unlawful weapons charges and drug charges, KMOV-TV reported.
Maroney, 25, was with three other men when he was pulled over by police. He went to high school in St. Louis.
The former first-round pick was traded from the Patriots to the Broncos on Sept. 14. He played in just four games with three starts, rushing for 74 yards.
The way we see it
Maroney wasn't active on gamedays for most of his tenure with Denver, and it was already unlikely that the new coaching staff there would want to bring the free agent back in 2011. This arrest will only make finding a team interested in him more difficult.
