Patriots head coach Bill Belichick spoke to the media Monday following his team's playoff loss to the Jets. QB Tom Brady and NT Vince Wilfork had interviews on WEEI, Boston sports radio while other players talked to reporters in the Patriots' locker room.

Belichick on how the Jets got pressure on Brady: "There were a couple of times where they had a scheme where we really didn't have it picked up. There were other times where we had it picked up, [but] either a route wasn't open or we didn't do a good job of getting open on the route or the protection broke down — it was a physical breakdown — things like that. It was a combination of things."

Belichick on Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery's 58-yard catch-and-run: "Yeah, absolutely. Obviously, we did a very poor job on that play, defensively. It was bad. A four-yard pass that goes for 60 yards, it was just bad."

Belichick on coaching the Pro Bowl and if he'll get any free-agent scouting done: "It's definitely not where you want to be. We'll go out there and do it. … Based on the level and the tempo of those practices, I think that'd be pretty minimal. (I'll) scout the golfing."

Brady to WEEI on the Jets' defense: "They got beat up pretty good by us on the Monday-night game. And then watching them play the Colts, and they played a lot more zone coverage against the Colts as well, and really kept it a close game and won it in the fourth quarter. That definitely crossed our minds that they'd be doing similar-type things. I still felt like they were going to try to match up with our receivers, and they did some of that. I thought what they did a good job of was they really mixed what they were doing between playing a more conservative three-man rush and four-man rush. It certainly wasn't a very big blitz game for them. It was a very big blitz game for them in the second game, and in the first game."

Brady on the offense's struggle: "Driving home last night, I said, 'God, we just never put any pressure on them.' When you're playing at home and you have a great advantage of playing at time, you've really got to take advantage of those situations. And we didn't do a very good job of that."

Wilfork to WEEI on Wes Welker being benched: "That was something Bill and Wes went through. Me, personally, I don't know, I don't know. That's the head man making a point about what we represent. I wouldn't have done it. That's just me. Biggest game of the year so far, and probably one of your biggest players not being on the field. That's just me. Everybody has their opinion. That's my opinion. I wouldn't have done it."

S Patrick Chung to reporters about the botched fake punt: "I just saw the look that we have. That's how it goes. Make the call, it didn't work out for us. Leave Bill (Belichick) alone. Leave Scotty O (special-teams coach Scott O'Brien) alone. I take responsibility."
