Some would say the Titans enter the offseason in a challenging position. They have a definite need at quarterback now after deciding to cut ties with Vince Young. Head coach Jeff Fisher will return for the 2011 season, but he's in the final year of his contract, and there is definite pressure to return to the playoffs after two uneven and disappointing seasons in a row. The Titans could have a shot at a top quarterback prospect with the No. 8 overall pick, but that position is far from the only one needing to be bolstered, with the defense needing reinforcements, especially at defensive tackle, linebacker and safety. The Titans have finished in the bottom seven in yards allowed per game in each of the past two seasons, though they did allow fewer yards per play in 2010 despite being on the field more, a sign of progress. Nonetheless, more improvement is necessary, and considering the circumstances, the need to find help this offseason is clear.
