Titans RB Chris Johnson has been added to the AFC Pro Bowl roster, replacing Maurice Jones-Drew of the Jaguars, who is out with a knee injury.
Johnson rushed for 1,228 yards and nine TDs during the season, but was left off the roster initially because of an overload of talent in the AFC backfield. He has made the Pro Bowl in each of his three seasons as a pro.
Jones-Drew had 1,324 rushing yards, despite missing the final two weeks of the season with the knee issue. He underwent surgery on Jan. 6 and is expected to be fully recovered by the start of the 2011 season.
The way we see it
There were plenty of AFC running backs who deserved Pro Bowl consideration, so when Jones-Drew went down, the NFL didn't have to search very long for a replacement. Johnson didn't reach the 2,000-yard plateau this season as he did in '09, but still had a very solid season running the ball.
