Whomever is named the Cowboys' defensive coordinator, he'll have to figure out what went wrong with CB Mike Jenkins, who took a big step backward in 2010. Jenkins appeared primed for a big season coming off his '09 performance, but the corner appeared to lose his confidence and his will to compete, which were considered burgeoning strengths coming into his third season. Orlando Scandrick is considered a solid corner at best, and some believe that Terence Newman is in the twilight of his career. So it's imperative to figure out if Jenkins' confidence can be salvaged because he has good talent and ball skills and the team spent a first-round pick on him. The Cowboys often played with three corners most of the season, so this is a position of need anyway. But helping turn Jenkins back around will be an important chore for whomever takes over running the defense, which is talented in other spots but seeks answers in the secondary.
