The last time the Cardinals had the fifth overall pick in the draft was in 2007, when they bypassed RB Adrian Peterson in favor of OT Levi Brown, whose performance as the starting left tackle in 2010 left a lot to be desired (seven sacks allowed), according to team insiders. Could the team once again consider going after an offensive lineman with its first pick? Word is the team is likely a year away from seriously considering a replacement for Brown, who showed some first-round ability at times but, as one source put it, "did not pass-block the way the fifth overall pick should." That said, the O-line is viewed as a major area of need, especially at guard, where veteran OLG Alan Faneca is considering retirement, and ORG Deuce Lutui could be a free agent who isn't going to come cheap. "I think they'd like Faneca back for another year, if he wants to come back," the source said. "Same goes for Deuce, but he's going to want to get paid."
