Packers-Eagles prediction

The main reason why I believe the Packers are going to beat the Eagles for the second time this season is the edge they have in terms of momentum, having played the equivalent of three playoff games the last three weeks against the Patriots, Giants and Bears and winning two of the games while making the Pats breathe heavy right down to the wire. The Eagles, meanwhile, looked very shaky in their upset loss to the Vikings.

As was the case in the Packers’ wild-and-crazy wild-card playoff game against the Cardinals last year, I don’t suspect a shortage on points, although I don’t think we’re talking about anything close to a 96-point barn burner, either. Looks for the Eagles to try and burn the Packers deep early if they can. Also look for Dom Capers to bring the house again like he did last week, with perhaps a few different building blocks getting more involved this week. Don’t ask me why, but James Jones seems ready for a big day, with Asante Samuel probably doing a good job of holding Greg Jennings relatively in check.

Prediction: Packers 32, Eagles 27
