Disbelief was the major emotion being felt on the streets of St. Louis, when it was revealed a few days after the Rams' disappointing season-ending loss to the Seahawks that offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur had been granted an interview for the Browns' vacant head-coaching post. That Mike Holmgren might seriously consider Shurmur — despite what was immediately perceived as a totally ineffective game plan against the Seahawks — rose eyebrows to the Gateway Arch's rafters. "You have to wonder. A lot of it is (Holmgren and Shurmur) having the same agent (Bob LaMonte), but it definitely got a reaction," said one source on the scene.
