Playing their second game in five days, the Eagles will be without their top offensive weapon this afternoon vs. the Cowboys. QB Michael Vick will be the team's emergency third QB, as Kevin Kolb will start for Philadelphia.

Vick was hit early and often in the Eagles' Tuesday-night loss to the Vikings, a game that locked the team into the three seed in the NFC playoffs. With nothing to play for, the team has chosen to sit Vick against Dallas. Rookie Mike Kafka is the second-string QB.

The way we see it

This is a smart call by Andy Reid, to rest his star QB in a meaningless game. Since Philly wasn't able to wrap up a playoff bye, this Week 17 game will serve as a time to rest for Vick.
