Pro Bowl bids figured to be few, at best, for the Bengals, with not many Cincinnati players figuring as logical contenders this season, so it was not a major surprise that the club didn't have a player named to the AFC all-star team. However, if there was one Bengal who might have been considered a snub, the way we hear it, it was OLT Andrew Whitworth. Whitworth won the AFC fan vote at left tackle, but it was not enough to propel him onto the team, and he was not even selected as an alternate, according to the club's Web site. Whitworth, per STATS LLC, has allowed 2½ sacks this season after having allowed seven in 2009, and the Bengals have thrown more frequently after employing a run-heavy approach a season ago. Whitworth has fared well as a run blocker, too, with Cincinnati running frequently and successfully behind him.
