The Jaguars will be without their top two offensive players for their must-win Week 17 matchup with the Texans.

RB Maurice Jones-Drew will miss his second consecutive game with a knee injury. Jacksonville needs a win over Houston, as well as a Colts loss to the Titans, to clinch the AFC South and a trip to the playoffs.

"It wasn't hurt to the point that I couldn't play on it, but we knew that if I did play on it, this could happen," Jones-Drew told The Florida Times-Union on Thursday. "I chose to do it. I wanted to play football and I love playing the game. This is the price you pay sometimes."

QB David Garrard will also miss the game, as he underwent finger surgery on Thursday. LB Alvin Bowen was signed to the active roster to take his roster spot.

The way we see it

The Jaguars were one of the best stories of the year, going from fourth place in 2009 to challenging the powerhouses of the South, the Colts, for the division title. But key injuries down the stretch will make it difficult for Jack Del Rio's club to make the postseason.
