In the final weeks of the season, TE Owen Daniels finally started to again consistently show the playmaking ability that has distinguished him in his five-year NFL career. Daniels has been bothered by knee and hamstring injuries this season and missed five games because of the latter ailment; but he has moved well since returning to the lineup in Week 14, and QB Matt Schaub has looked for him frequently, targeting him 32 times in the past three games. Daniels is slated to be a free agent, and the decision to re-sign him could pose a dilemma for the Texans. When healthy, Daniels is a difference maker, but he has suffered three ACL tears in his career, and the Texans have a bevy of other capable tight ends, led by James Casey and Joel Dreessen. Casey, who has played sparingly in his first two NFL seasons, is a player to watch, the way we hear it.
