Our sources in Seattle couldn't find much fault with the Pro Bowl voters' reluctance to choose any Seahawks players for the second season in a row. The Seahawk considered the most worthy of an invite to Honolulu was free-agent addition Leon Washington, who rebounded from a severe leg injury to score an NFC-best three kickoffs for touchdowns. "But how in the world could you go with him over Devin Hester?" one daily team observer asked. Higher quality candidates also stood in the way of two other possible Seattle selections — DE Chris Clemons, who finished among the NFC leaders in sacks with a career-high 10½, and first-round rookie FS Earl Thomas, who finished among the league leaders in interceptions with five. "They just didn't quite measure up to the guys who made it," the observer said. "And Thomas got most of his interceptions early in the season and dropped as many as he made."
