One of the many keys to reaching the postseason is health, an area the Jets have been fairly fortunate in. Outside of losing NT Kris Jenkins in the first quarter of the first game of the season, the Jets' defensive front seven is as close to 100 percent as possible after four months of football, a major key for the team heading into the playoffs.
OLB Jason Taylor said a main reason for this is the rotation he is a part of with fellow OLBs Bryan Thomas and Calvin Pace. The three players split time on the field, allowing them to stay fresh and avoid an overwhelming physical toll.
"Bryan's playing very well, Calvin had the foot injury at the start of the year and has really bounced back and I just try to help those guys out, do what I can," the 36-year-old Taylor told PFW. "I think it has been good for all three of us to not have to carry too much of the load."
