Kevin Kolb will return to the starting role for the Eagles in Sunday's season finale against the Cowboys.
Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Thursday that Kolb will get the start over Michael Vick. Kolb took first-team reps in Thursday morning's practice.
Vick injured his quad in Tuesday night's loss to the Vikings. The Eagles are locked into the No. 3 seed in the NFC regardless of Sunday's outcome. Kolb was the Week One starter for the Eagles before sustaining a concussion and losing the job to Vick, who is the NFC's starting QB for the Pro Bowl.
The way we see it
This is not a surprise considering the game is meaningless for the Eagles. They are one of the fortunate teams in a league with a capable backup in Kolb who could probably start for a few teams in the league. The Eagles will need Vick well rested and healthy for a playoff run. They will play the NFC's second wild-card team in the playoffs, which will be either the Giants, Packers or Buccaneers.
For those of you in fantasy leagues that count Week 17, we hope that Vick didn't get you there. Kolb is not a terrible start, but don't expect many of the Eagles' skill players to play much.
