The NFL has decided to reduce the fines handed out to some of the league's hardest-hitting players. Judy Battista of the New York Times first reported the news on Twitter.

According to Battista, Falcons CB Dunta Robinson, Patriots SS Brandon Meriweather and Steelers OLB James Harrison all received refunds on the fines handed out earlier in the year. Robinson's fine was dropped from $50,000 to $25,000, Meriweather's from $50,000 to $40,000 and Harrison's from $75,000 to $50,000.

All of the fines were originally handed out following Week Six, when a series of helmet-to-helmet hits sparked major conversation and increased attention to the dangerous collisions.
