The Eagles signed DE Bobby McCray and released DE Derrick Burgess on Thursday.

McCray has not played this season after playing in all 16 games in '09 with the Saints. He recorded 12 tackles and 1½ sacks. His best season came in 2006 with the Jaguars when he recorded 10 sacks in 12 starts.

Burgess, a 10-year veteran, played in one game this season and did not record a tackle.

The way we see it

The Eagles already have placed rookie DEs Brandon Graham and Ricky Sapp on injured reserve this season. DT Jeff Owens suffered a season-ending knee injury on Tuesday night. McCray will bring a veteran presence to the D-line for the Eagles' playoff run.
