Antonio Gates has been placed on injured reserve with a foot injury, ending the season for the Pro Bowl TE.

In his place, the Chargers have signed FB Billy Latsko to their active roster.

Gates finished the season with 50-782-10 despite missing six games with the foot problem. He was voted to his seventh Pro Bowl yesterday, but is unlikely to play in the All-Star game.

The way we see it

Even with the injury, Gates had a fantastic season for San Diego. Philip Rivers' favorite target should be able to heal properly over the offseason and come back at 100 percent.
