The Dolphins reportedly waived WR Kevin Curtis and OL Eric Ghiaciuc on Tuesday. In their place, they signed OT Allen Barbre and LB Mike Rivera.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported that the Dolphins cut ties with Curtis and Ghiaciuc. Curtis, who is a cancer survivor, caught one pass for six yards and had a six-yard rush against the Bills in Week 15.
Barbre, a fourth-round pick in 2007, played in 25 games with seven starts the last three seasons with the Packers and Seahawks. Rivera is an undrafted free agent out of Kansas.
The way we see it
Curtis was brought in when Brandon Marshall was battling an injury and with Brian Hartline on injured reserve. But the Dolphins likely want to spend the last game giving rookie WRs Marlon Moore and Roberto Wallace some playing time. With an injury knocking OT Lydon Murtha out of last week's game, Barbre will provide some depth for Sunday.
