Four Bears players were named to the Pro Bowl roster for the NFC on Tuesday.
WLB Lance Briggs, WR-RS Devin Hester, DE Julius Peppers and MLB Brian Urlacher will represent Chicago in the game.
Peppers, who has eight sacks this season, was the only one who received a starting nod. This is the sixth time he's been named to the Pro Bowl.
Urlacher will head to the game for the seventh time of his career, but it's the first time he's made it since the 2006 season. He is tied for 10th in the league in tackles (121).
Briggs has become a Pro Bowl regular, as this is his sixth consecutive nod. He joins an elite group of Bears linebackers who've made it to six straight Pro Bowls, as Hall of Famers Dick Butkus, Bill George and Mike Singletary are the only other Chicago ’backers to accomplish the feat.
It's the third time Hester, who will serve as the NFC's return specialist, has been named to the Pro Bowl. He leads the league in punt-return average (17.1 yards) and punt returns for touchdowns (three). No player who has returned more than two kickoffs has a better kickoff-return average than Hester (35.6 yards).
